Heidi – Rescue Of The Lynx (2025)

I am currently working with a super awesome crew on a new animated feature film ” Heidi – Rescue of the Lynx” for Studio100 international. Our very first trailer is live now.

In the words of our producer Antoine Marbach :

” Exciting news! 🎥✨ Today, we’re thrilled to share the first glimpse of our heartfelt new animated journey—Heidi. This isn’t just a story; it’s a beautiful blend of nostalgia and fresh storytelling that takes you back to the charm of the Alps, resilience, and the joy of simple things. I’m proud to have developed and produced this film as one of the Producers, alongside an incredibly dedicated team. Together with our talented director, Tobias Schwarz, we’ve brought Heidi’s world to life with a deep and authentic touch.

Spoiler alert: the plot includes an irresistibly cute kitten lynx, and the underlying dramatic theme? It’s about speaking things out to heal—a message that feels more relevant now than ever.

Check out the trailer and let us know what you think! Your thoughts and support mean everything”

The film is inspired by the novel Heidi‘s Years of Wandering and Learning by Johanna Spyri (1880) and the anime series directed by Isao Takahata in 1974. Though it is a brand new story it was important for us to keep the world of Heidi we all know and pay tribute to the beautiful visual language of Takahata, Kotabe, Ashida, Tomino and Miyazaki.

The plot goes like this: ” When eight-year-old Heidi saves a lynx family and their home from a greedy businessman, she gets her grandfather to come clean with the village community and she realizes that her beloved little lynx belongs with his family in the wild just as she belongs with her grandfather in the mountains.”

We are aiming for a 2025 release in cinemas.

Klaus is scheduled to be released theatrically in select theaters on November 8, 2019 and digitally through Netflix on November 15. It has been a privilege to be part of the Animation team at SPA in Madrid and what an inspiring experience it has been.

Last month we had a screening of the film and a wrap party for the crew. It turned out fantastic. Go and watch the film or stay at home and watch the film. But watch the film!
